The five food colors: yellow, red, green, black and white; and the five food tastes: sweet, bitter, sour, salty and spicy in particular have close health effects on our five internal organs: spleen, heart, liver, kidney, and lungs. Please refer to the chart below.
Yellow color foods benefit the spleen as they help to regulate the body metabolism. Foods such as corn, pumpkin, potatoes, carrot, soy beans, mango and etc.
Sweet taste foods enhance the spleen to perform better blood circulation and detoxification. Foods include wheat, potatoes, corn, Chinese-yam, tomatoes, carrot, pumpkin and etc.
